Sophie joined BalletMet as a Company Artist, in 2017, at age 17. In 2019, Dance Magazine named her one of their top, "25 to Watch". During her first three seasons she performed as: Sugar Plum Fairy, Adult Clara, The Nutcracker; Juliet, Balcony Scene, Romeo & Juliet; Peasant Pas & Zulma, Giselle; Amore, Don Quixote; Winter Fairy, Cinderella and Caterpillar & Eaglet, Alice. She was also featured in: After The Rain, Christopher Wheeldon; Red Angels, Ulysses Dove; Interplay, Jerome Robbin; Rubies & Square Dance, George Balanchine; Ecliptic, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa; Fare Thee Well, Andrea Schermoly; Cacti, Alexander Ekman; and Edwaard Liang’s: The Silence In Between, Beautiful Child, Wunderland, and Symphonic Dances. Sophie was rehearsing the role of Carmen in Gustavo Ramírez Sansano’s, Carmen.maquia when the season ended early due to Covid-19. Sophie has performed as a professional guest artist in many Galas and productions as: Sugar Plum Fairy, Dew-Drop, and Snow Queen, The Nutcracker; Black Swan Pas de Deux, Swan Lake; Medora Pas de Deux (Act II), Le Corsaire; Gamzatti Grande Pas de Deux (Act II) La Bayadère; and Jeanne, Flames Pas de Deux, Flames of Paris. Prior to Covid-19 cancellations, Sophie was scheduled to guest in summer productions as Kitri, Don Quixote; and Odette, Swan Lake.As a pre-professional student, Sophie performed & received recognition from several international ballet competitions. In 2017, she earned the Gold Medal at the World Ballet Competition, and performed as a finalist in Beijing at the China IBCC, earning a Jury Award (Morning Star Foundation). In 2015, she traveled to Havana, for the Cuban IBC where she earned the Gold Medal. Sophie’s YAGP performances earned the Youth Grand Prix Award, 2014 (Semi-finals) and 1st Place: Pas De Deux, Contemporary & Classical (2015 & 2016). Sophie’s Pre-Professional training was under Magaly Suarez, (Director of The Art of Classical Ballet, Pompano Beach, FL). Her early ballet training in Michigan, was with Valentina Barsukova (Valentina’s Ballet) and Meg Gurin-Paul (Wayne State Dance Program/Complexions Ballet Mistress) Sophie’s contemporary training was with Liz Schmidt-Mazurkiewicz (Spotlight Dance Works, Michigan) and culminated in her being named the National NYCDA Jr. Outstanding Dancer and assisting on their National Tour, 2013-2014.Sophie is very excited to be guest artist at Ballet Arts Dance Company "GALA" 2020 season celebrating 10 anniversary .

Born and raised in Havana, Cuba. Former Principal Dancer with National Ballet of Cuba and San Francisco Ballet. He trained at Alejo Carpentier School and the National Ballet School in Havana. Mr. Domitro was nominated for best male dancer at the 2013 Benois de la Danse. He also won the 2008 Gold Medal at the World Ballet Competition in Orlando, Florida, the Grand Prix at Peru’s International Ballet Festival in 2003, and in 2000, 1st Prize and the Revelation Award at International Ballet Competition and Ballet Academies Festival in Havana, Cuba. At age 20 he became a Principal Dancer with the National Ballet of Cuba and started to build an incredible career sharing the stage with some amazing renowned dancers such as Italian Prima Ballerina Carla Fracci. He have also performed the Pas de Deux from Vaganova’s “Diana & Acteon”, the Pas de Deux from Vainonen’s “Flames of Paris”, “La Bayadere” Pas D’action and Zanella's “Alles Walzer” and “Underskin”. Mr. Domitro also worked with cuban choreographers Alberto Mendez, Ivan Tenorio and Eduardo Blanco. YANLIS ABREU Born in Havana, Cuba. Since she began dancing at the early age of 3, she was committed to becoming a professional dancer. Yanlis graduated from the National School of Ballet in Cuba, where she was privileged to study under many of their greatest teachers. She graduated with professional honors and in 2011, she became a soloist with National Ballet of Cuba under the direction of Ms. Alicia Alonso. As a member of the National Ballet of Cuba, Yanlis performed around the world, in a vast selection of classical roles.
ANDY SOUSA Born in Havana, Cuba Andy graduated from The National Ballet School of Cuba in 2016 and immediately joined the Company, under the Direction of Alicia Alonso. Since leaving the Cuban National Ballet he has danced for the Classical Ballet Company of Sinaloa Mexico, Florida Classical Ballet, and Cleveland Ballet. During his professional career he has excelled in numerous roles including the lead for Arabian and Russian in Nutcracker, Don Quixote Grand Pas de Deux, and the Pas d’esclave from Le Corsaire ,So excited to join Ballet Arts for the 2021 season.
AMANDA DAVIS was born and raised in Boynton Beach, Florida. She attended Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts for high school while also attending School of Ballet Arts in Lake Worth, FL. Amanda has earned her BFA in spring of 2019 at New World School of the Arts. She has attended the CuBallet Summer Intensives with artistic director Deborah Marquez and Laura Alonso the past three years. With the exceptional training she has received from these facilities Amanda was able to attend The School of Jacob’s Pillow Contemporary Ballet and Contemporary program in the summer of 2019. In 2015 and 2016 she was awarded with a Youngarts Merit award and Honorable mention in Jazz Dance. In 2020 Amanda received Best Female Contemporary Dancer from Dance Open America. Along with her achievements she has choreographed numerous works for Ballet Arts Dance Company. Throughout her pre-professional and professional training she has performed works by choreographers including Aszure Barton, Darrell Moultrie, Didy Veldman, Jae Man Joo, Paul Taylor, Robert Battle, Matthew Neenan, Merce Cunningham, and Eduardo Vilaro.
JOSHUAN VAZQUEZ Originally from Puerto Rico, Joshua is currently pursuing a degree in Classical Dance Pedagogy at the Alicia Alonso Dance Institute, Rey Juan Carlos II University (URJC) in Madrid. He has trained and performed as a Principal Dancer with Western Ballet Theater and Ballet Escenario in Puerto Rico. In 2018 Joshuan joined the Ballet de Camara de Madrid where he has been featured in many Classical Ballet roles. In 2020 he was a top award winner for his Classical Variation, Contemporary Solo, and “best” Pas de Deux at Dance Open America.
KAMILA ABREU Born in the south of Brazil, Kamila began her ballet studies at the Bolshoi Theater School in Brazil. There she danced alongside great ballet stars like Ivan Vasieliev and Natália Osipova. After 8 years of training, she joined the Bolshoi Brasil Company where she performed throughout the world. During this time she also taught the beginning grades of the Bolshoi School, teaching both theoretical and practical courses. Since 2018 Kamila has been both a performer with Ballet Arts and one of it’s main instructors for it’s School.
Alexey Minkin was born and raised in the city of Kazan, Russia. He finished his studies at the internationally renowned ballet school Perm State Choreographic College in Perm, Russia. Soon after he graduated he was hired to dance as a soloist at the Kremlin Ballet in Moscow where he performed all the classical and contemporary repertoire of the company and was able to perform in important stages both nationally, such as the Kremlin Palace and the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow and also internationally, such as Covent Garden in London, Champs-Elysees in Paris and many more.He later moved to Latin America where he worked performing both soloist and principal roles for the best companies in the area like Ballet Teresa Carreño in Caracas, Venezuela and Ballet de Santiago in Chile. As a professional dancer he has participated in many international galas and festivals in many theaters around the world. He was also a finalist at the First International Ballet Competition in Riga, Latvia and is also the recipient of the “Crowd’s Favorite” Prize at the Perm Ballet School Competition. Today Alexey is a Ballet dancer with Dimensions Dance Theater of Miami and a resident guest dancer with Ballet Arts in Lake Worth, Florida
