DEAR FRIENDS AND COMMUNITY
We are excited to announce the commencement of our new professional company. It will be called Ballet Arts Dance Company, replacing Arts Dance Generation. As a professional company serving South Florida it will continue to be affiliated with School Of Ballet Arts, founded in 2010, who are already recognized for its established productions and repertoire.
We take pride in creating and molding dancers' excellence. Many of our students are now dancing with professional companies worldwide. Ballet Arts, a not for profit organization, will offer exceptional opportunities to young artists of high caliber, to perform at numerous functions and venues across South Florida to show off their passion and flair.
The company will be composed of 7 exceptionally talented Professional dancers, as well as 12 elite aspiring dancers ages 14-17, who are part of our pre-professional (BAII) company. They will be part of all our special dance venues and Company productions. Our mission is to create a rich and diverse community through its inspiring dance performances, education, and community engagement. Our Grand Anniversary Gala will be a thrilling event and scheduled for May 30, 2020 at Persson Hall, Kravis Center for the Performing Arts.

Orlando Salgado: Celebrating his 50 years of artistic career (1968-2018).
It all began at the dawn of 1962, at the headquarters of the Cuban National Ballet, when dancer and Maître de Ballet Laura Alonso recognized the exceptional physical qualities of a 9-year-old boy. That discovery by his future teacher and dance partner was decisive for one of the greatest dancers to come out of the Cuban method of ballet, and who this year celebrates his 50 years of artistic career.
After graduating in 1968, he joined the corps de ballet of the Cuban company. From that moment, his rapid rise began. In 1972 he became a soloist and in 1976 he reached the highest category as principal dancer.
During her career he shared the stage with world-famous dancers, both female and male, from Antonio Gades and Rudolf Nureyev to Eva Evdokímova and Alicia Alonso, whosepartenaire he was for more than 20 years.
Those who saw him perform live, remember his legendary performances in Canto Vital, Giselle (as Albrecht), Swan Lake (as Sigfried), Carmen (as Don José), Blood Wedding (as Leonardo), and in Oedipus Rex (as Oedipus), roles that earned him the praise of the public and of international critics.
Therefore, resizing the moment of this CuBallet GALA, we want to pay tribute to who was and will always be one of the greatest male dancers of the Cuban method of ballet, and who continues to share with students and dancers from different countries a legacy full of experiences. Thank you, MaestroSalgado, for your dedication and your presence among us. Happy 50th anniversary.
